The Seattle Seahawks are an NFL team based in Seattle, Washington. They are currently a member of the Western Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) and joined the NFL in 1976 as an expansion team.
Seattle is the only team to have played in both the American Football Conference (AFC) and NFC championship games. The Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014 for their first Super Bowl win in franchise history.
They also went to the Super Bowl in 2005 and were defeated by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and in 2015 when they lost to the Patriots.
