Colorado Rockies

The Colorado Rockies are a Major League Baseball team based in Denver, Colorado. They are part of the Western Division of the National League. The team takes its name from the Rocky Mountains that run through Colorado. Famous mountain where we at Brooklyn Fizz dream of going to visit and ski on! The city of Denver is nicknamed "Mile High City" because of its altitude.
The Rockies are a relatively young franchise, created in 1993 as an extension of the Florida Marlins.
Of note is the franchise's huge fan community in its early days, with a record 4 million fans in attendance cumulatively over the year, which is huge.
So far the Rockies can boast 3 play-off appearances, in 1995, 2007 and 2009.
Be careful not to confuse the MLB franchise with the Colorado Rockies who play in the National Hockey League, and who are also based in Denver. With their flashy purple jerseys, it's easy to distinguish the Rockies players from the MLB you might say.
